From Taiko's (Kaiser) Adopters

Just wanted to give you a short update on Kaiser, It has been over a year now and he is now what we call a teenager. He is smart, funny and loving. We had to get him another sibling he was just too playful for our Shiloh he was driving Caesar crazy. We received a German shepherd from our daughter and her name is Freya. Between the two of them there is never a dull moment they chase each other around the 2 acres of property that we have fenced they love to go riding in the truck in the camper shell (safety) and they both try to push the other aside when it time to play on the floor at the end of the day with me.

Because of the hot summer and lack of water in our lake we didn’t get to the boat that often last year however I’m just dying to get the two out swimming. I have attached our family Christmas picture to show you how good looking he has grown to be. The Shiloh is white, Kaiser is brown and black and Freya is more back and smaller.

Again thanks for the precious gift that you gave us and for all that you do.

Midnight Is A Hoarder

You won't see her on the cable show Hoarders, but read on from her adopters....

Midnight's personality is starting to really come out! She has some very cute quarks. She hoards toys! All toys...dog toys, cat toys. She grabs what's lying around and puts them on her bed. If you move them she will eventually put them back. It is funny to watch her grab a cat toy and put it on her bed, once she leaves my cats will sneak up and take it back. Midnight will then see the cat toy out and put it back on the bed. This cycle went on for hours last night!
Midnight will kind of fetch. She will now run after a thrown toy but take it to one of her beds. It really is a joy to have her in our home. I can see that she has some very happy moments and I am sure as time goes on she will be more comfortable and open to happiness on a regular basis.

Stanley Is Praised By His Adopter

Stanley is the sweetest boy. I am so glad to have him and have him in my home and my life. He and Nikita bonded so beautifully. I had to have surgery a few weeks ago that I am still recovering from. During that time I had Stanley have his hernia surgery and boarded him. He is doing terrific and is due to have his stitches out this Saturday. He is the sweetest little boy. Thanks for all the great work that you and GSDrescue do.

Happy 2012!

Captain

From Captain's Adopters "He’s a real pleasure to have and be around. He used the doggie door right off, no hesitation, seems to know his new name and comes when called. We’re working on “stay” ( we may be on that one for a while) and “sit” – he does that one pretty well.
Thanks for all your efforts on our part and on Moses’ part. Ya’ll have a well-run operation and it was a pleasure to do business with you."

Aries
From Aries' Adopters "Just wanted to let everyone know Aries is a definite success story!! She is in intermidiate training class now and she still outshines everyone.(That's not just a proud mom speaking either!)She is super social, well mannered, has a fantastic temperment, etc...I don't even have words to do her justice. A friend of mine who's not crazy about dogs said if he could find one like Aries he'd definitley change his mind.Everybody is always so captivated by her.

She loves to swim, hike, bike, walk and as I call it hop run...she hops as she runs. She is also beautiful..has kept her same coloring, black mask and tail, with those deep dark loving brown eyes. She weighs 28lbs and comes a little above my knee height wise.(I'm 5ft). The vet says that's as big as she'll get.She is my miniture German Shepherd.Anyway, will send updated pictures soon..just wanted to update you.

Again..we love her soooo much!!

Sad News

It really pains me to post sad news about one of our rescues. But ~ alas, we must take the good with the bad and memorialize the souls that just can't survive.

Can you please remember little Aggi as she has gone to run with the big dogs in heaven's wide open fields.

She was rescued by Dr Stacie who took in Addi the mom, Aggi and her sister Anni. She endured a VERY hard beginning and if there is any justice their owner is hopefully still in jail.

Aggi was tiny and not growing and after much enduring and many vet visits she could not survive.

Her fosters Joe and his sweet girlfriend, along with Margaret the original foster, Dr Stacie and of course our fearless leader Bev are grieving for this sweet girl. It takes a rescue village and sometimes even more than that...we will miss her!
