We Heard From Bridgette's Adopter Too!

Update From Bridgette's Adopter:

This was taken a couple of months ago so she's grown quite a bit since then.
I took her to the vet last month for a check-up and she was already 55 pounds, at eight months! She's already about a quarter of an inch taller than Niko and believe me, she thinks that makes her the head dog in the house! She's constantly chasing him, chewing on his leg, chewing on his ears, licking his face, and he loves it :) She graduated from Puppy Training classes about a month ago and did phenomenal! We hadn't gone over any of her commands since class ended but last weekend I told her to "come around" which is the command for her to circle me and then sit next to me and she did! She's so smart and obedient, we couldn't ask for a better dog.

On Tuesday we took both her and Niko to the UT campus to take some pictures for the wedding and even though there were hundreds of people around, she just sat next to us and took cues from the photographer. Niko? Yeah, that was another story, hehe.

Farrah's New Family Has This To Say

Update from Farrah's Adopter:

Just want to give you an update on Farrah. She is doing VERY well. She and our stray dog Cindy have both been housebroken and we have had no accidents for about a WEEK! YIPPEE! The pack is still sorting things out, and we have had minor dustups from all three dogs, no injuries at all. Farrah was so shy at first and was a scaredy dog when we did our first walk around the property. We take at least one walk a day with me leading the pack. The rest of the day, they are on their own to run free. We have some neighbor dogs some of whom are chained up. When we passed the one dog which was chained up near the back fence, it jumped and made a ruckus. Farrah RAN away even though there was a fence between the dog and her. It took me a long time to convince her it was OK to walk past it. She gradually got more bold, and now she is leading the pack in joining in the barkfest we have every morning at our back fence with our neighbor dogs.
Our Lab mix Max who you met, is the pack leader and loves to swim. Farrah has been his swimming buddy now and this morning they went for a pre-breakfast swim. Cindy is not so eager to get in the water. They all love to run around and chase each other in the house and outside. The problem is that Max is so refreshed when he takes a swim, he really is like a puppy again and has to run all over the place. Usually with Farrah and Cindy chasing him. I took some pictures of all the dogs and our place, and my wife will try and send you a link so you can see them. Once again, we are VERY happy with our Farrah. She is so sweet and is getting more confident and blossoming more into a real Terv and is showing more of their characteristics as the days go by. Unfortunately, she has decided that my wife is HER human first. I was Natalie's primary human, so I feel a bit left out now.

The two dogs sleep on their bed next to my side of the bed, and then Farrah will move to my wifes side when I go to sleep. Of course, she has figured out that I am the one to wake first in the morning, and I get licks to tell me it is time to get up and chase squirrels and Max. Hope that you and your pups are doing as well as we are and thanks!

Remember Amigo Duke Now Axel!

Update from Axel's (was Amigo) adopters: Amigo came to German Shepherd Rescue looking like this:

Here's what his new family has to say:

Dan and I bought a new camera and thought you’d like an updated photo of Axel. He is so cute. He’s also growing up into a very nice gentleman. He now has house privileges while I’m not home; in other words, we don’t crate him anymore. He’s very well behaved and hasn’t chewed or had anyaccidents. I keep telling him we’re both so lucky to have found each other. And herreeeeeeeeee he is: WOW!

Sweet Success - Her Name Is Tessa Now

(We use to know her as Paris, Paris Hilton) Here she is "before adoption".

Here she is "adopted".
The pics really don't do her justice. She is so gorgeous, and everyone at the vet just loves her. She is already Miss Popularity. They commented on how happy and sweet she is. The vet says she is very healthy and her blood test was negative today!! I am so relieved.

We go together like peas and carrots. I love the love and affection I get from her every day all day, and I think she feels the same from us. If we could just stop her from chasing those darn squirrels.

Thank you so much, Beverly. She is a gift from God. We will cherish her forever. I will stay in touch.

Please Take A Look At These Wonderful Dogs Available For Adoption Below

The Day and the Life of Angel Beverly:

Scene 1: Get up, let all the dogs out, feed them, get ready for work

Scene 2: Go to work, deal with idiots, deal with the idiot federal government and work for and with a lot of veterans who need so much but don't get the support they need so.... Action - Beverly working to make it happen. CUT! Now during all this, we pan and see Beverly talking on the phone trying to coordinate how to save more dogs including puppies that have such infected feet they have to be amputated. Cut – end of day.

Scene 3: We see Beverly stop at the store to get some things like: 3 - 40lb bags of dog food, 2 cases of canned dog food, some dog toys and a bottle of icy cold coke for the ride home. We now move to her getting out of her truck and lugging a 40lb bag of dog food - all while trying to greet the dogs out front. She continues to lug the other 2 - 40lb bags of dog food, then the 2 cases of canned food and toys into the house. DRAMA! She nearly trips, wrenching her bag and almost dropping a bag of dog food that is almost as big as her because Louise is running between her legs yelping hello and Stormy is jumping up on her to say “pet me! pet me!” And Serena is mouthing her elbow to say “no, pet me! I missed you mostest!”.

Scene 4: After lugging all the stuff in, now she goes out back and greats everybody back there – Hello Panzer, Myra , Samba….then camera moves in and watches her face – with grit and determination, she climbs the steps and begins the process of getting all the dog food prepared. She feeds them, fills the water bowls, goes outside and fills the pools and picks up the poop. Now the sun has fully set and it’s dark.

Scene 5: She can’t sit down yet, no not yet. She wipes her brow with the back of her hand and smiles down as she looks at all the dogs she has saved. She places her hair behind her ear and gets ready to clean herself up and get her dinner prepared. She looks at the canned dog food – but no, no – she can’t eat that, it’s for the dogs! We skip to her sitting down to eat but eyes all the dirt and dog hair floating around. She sighs heavily and begins to sweep then mop.

Scene 6: Finally she sets her weary bones down to eat (her now cold dinner) and chill for a brief moment all while trying to love on all the poochies who are begging for attention. The camera pans out to all the dogs vying for her loving or a toy. A few still need some training (they don’t come to her with perfect behavior) she thinks tomorrow, tomorrow I’ll continue the potty training for Stormy, the walking properly on a leash for Banjo, tomorrow……

Scene 7: Now Bev wearily gets up to wash her dishes and organizes the pack to let them out one last time – all while working on potty training Stormy (tomorrow never seems to come – it has to be now). She let’s them play for a little bit – and sees the beauty of it and them and smiles that cheeky smile (camera moves in close) a sparkle in her eye shows how happy she is and realizes all of this is worth every ache and pain, dog hair, dog poop, and dirty floors. With that smile we move to

Scene 8: Beverly organizes the pack into their own crates or nighty-night places, then with a sigh of relief, she sits down to watch a little TV and has time for herself. She relaxes, and then she hears a thundering boom as a Texas downpour is on the way. She smiles shakes her head, and looks at her mostly clean floor and realizes it won’t be clean for long……End scene, camera pans out as a flash of lightening brightens the darkness outside and the tap tap of rain hitting her window.

Sigh – I feel the drama and the love!!!! Contributed by: Debi
